Although the general rule of thumb is just a few dry cleanings per year, if you are actively working in an environment that requires more frequent cleaning (e.g. food & beverage/fine dining) then you will most likely need to dry clean more often (in addition to spot cleaning whenever possible), in which case your suits will not last as long as someone that wears them less frequently. I'd also recommend entry level pure wool suits for you as well, they are available in all weights, from tropical to winter weights.

What about when you have to entertain in your suit? You say only 2 dry cleanings a year, but in a more active life, does your 2 rule still apply?
